The Beit-CURE Children’s Hospital of Malawi announces that Rhoda Jura Kriek, MD, assumed the role of Executive Director of the hospital on 28 January 2025. As Executive Director, Kriek is responsible for the operational, financial, spiritual, and clinical well-being of the hospital so that it can provide no-cost medical service to as many children as possible.

Kriek earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi and has personally served patients in Nigeria and Kenya as a General Practitioner. As the CEO and Founder of Amber Medical Clinics Limited, she has earned experience leading teams of medical providers to achieve positive results. Kriek also founded and led the Amber Care Foundation to support quality healthcare across rural areas across East Africa.

About the Beit-CURE Children’s Hospital of Malawi

Established in Blantyre in 2002, Beit-CURE Children’s of Malawi is a teaching hospital that provides over 2,500 life-changing reconstructive and orthopedic surgeries each year for children suffering from treatable disabilities. With 50 beds and three operating theaters, the hospital is internationally recognized by the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA). In addition to providing quality medical care, Beit-CURE Malawi ministers to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their communities. The Beit Trust, a UK-based charity, provided the initial funding for this facility as a gift to the people of Malawi. Services are offered at no cost to families through the generous support of CURE’s partners and donors worldwide. Beit-CURE Malawi has earned the highest rating possible by SafeCare, an international health service rating organization. Beit-CURE Malawi is currently building a new, expanded surgical center with four operating theaters.
